Vanagons, Karmann Ghia, Type 3 in movies & TV Rome
1. Vanagon Syncro parked way back, movie "Kindergarten Cop" (1990). Filmed in Astoria, Oregon which is on the south shore of the Columbia River.
2. Vanagon camper on Pacific Coast Highway (US Route 1) northbound at the "Devil's Slide" frequent landslide section south of San Francisco; PBS series "Modern Marvels- Pacific Coast Highway" season 10 episode 4, 2004.
3. Composite photo of a late pale yellow Squareback in a parking garage, German movie "Deutschland im Herbst" (1978). Translates to "Germany in autumn". M license plate is the city of Munich.
4. Rear of a blue-green early Squareback in a Berlin city parking lot, German movie "Rote Sonne" (1970). Is that a Type 34 Ghia just to the left of the man in background?!
5. Red late '60's Squareback in right background, per #4.
6. Rear of a late '60's Notchback in the right lane of a bridge, German documentary "German terrorism The red army faction" (1977).
7. Ivory early Type 3 (can't see the rest of the body to determine the model) parked behind an Alfa Romeo GTV Coupe; movie "The Baader Meinhof Complex" (2008).
8. Back of a blue Squareback 1500 S in driveway, movie "Melvin and Howard" (1980).
9. Red '66 Ghia Coupe on the beach main drive in Nice, France; movie "L'Homme Orchestre" (The one man band) 1970. The low yellow sports car is a Lamborghini Miura, the red car at right is a Fiat 124 Coupe.
10. Composite photo of a beige/tan Squareback parked in right background, movie "Good guys wear black" (1978). Looks like it has fiberglass engine air vent scoops.
11. Composite photo of 2 late '60's Squarebacks at the same intersection, movie "Zabriskie Point" (1970). The upper photo has a fiberglass "Muffler man" statue at the business. View other images: From Rome Search Forums for photo

Table Latch Release 1 unclebrad
When my table latch stuck, the only way I found to get it to release was by removing the hinge bolts and then pulling the whole wall panel off. More work than I wanted, but this way, I didn't have to force anything.
Turned out that the latch mechanism was slightly loose, and the hole in the metal plate had "flared" out, leaving less room for the latch "dog"(?) to flip.
I added two more screws and flattened down the hole.
I also replaced the foam "resistance pad" that keeps the table firm when "closed". View other images: From unclebrad Search Forums for photo
