The plywood at along side A is a scrap of 1/2 inch fir plywood covered with a layer of 1/4 inch luan plywood and a coat of lacquer. It butts to the panel in the foreground that was also cut from the remainder of the original cabinet material. The opening was cut with a scroll saw, and the door was cut down to fit the smaller opening. To make the groove for the moulding around the upper door edge, I made a small cutter from a thick washer by filing teeth in the edge, then chucked it in my drill on a bolt. A hair drier softened the moulding to fit the curve. |
