| Continuing on with more details for the new samba forum thread about the repro Pre-A wheels... After some discussion with my favorite local powder coating place ("Shoreline Coatings LLC," of North Branford, CT, ref: http://shorelinepowdercoating.com/home/) it was decided that I've have them strip the paint that came on the wheels before I installed the hub cap clips (since they were going to be doing the final refinishing for me). I think they "burned" the paint off. Anyway, here is how the looked as-stripped, before I got busy with clips, rivets, hammer, and dolly... |
