Rockers on 1964 Beetle Engine Posted: Mon Nov 07, 2016 6:49 pm     Views: 11      Rating: Not rated

Working through suggestions, I have pulled rockers to investigate my problem.

Getting ready for a multi-state road trip I rebuilt carburetor which went smoothly. During attempted road trip vehicle lost power and developed very loud thumping noise. I was lucky enough to make it off the highway and get towed home. (See other thread about how to safely and correctly tow a beetle). I Had Beetle towed home. I have since replaced all 4 spark plugs and points. Set points to best of my ability. Old plugs where dark but dry. Generator light currently stays on when engine is running. I have checked and cleaned electrical connections. Thoughts?
