Stainless steel pushrod tubes Posted: Sat Mar 18, 2017 8:50 am     Views: 64      Rating: Not rated

Here is a strong case for spending a little bit more money for SS tubes. I installed these SS tubes onto my 1970 Fastback 1600cc engine in the summer 2004 during a full rebuild. At same time I had cleaned and repainted the bottom air sled tins using spray paint. I drove the car in the winter snow only a few times when my modern car would not be able to get out of the driveway due to summer tires. Otherwise the Fastback was parked outdoors under a cover and rarely driven. This shot is from 6/2016 when I was getting the engine running again. Even though the air tins were strongly rusted, the PR tubes are barely discolored.
