| I joined my VW friends Bill S and John K from central CT to drive to the Michigan Vintage VW Club annual meet in Auburn Hills MI in May 1999. Bill drove his superb, all original low-mile pearl white '62. I was in my '64 Ghia cabrio. We met up on the NY Thruway west of Albany NY, then at Utica drove northwest on state highways to get to Watertown NY and into Canada. This shot was on NY Rt 177 west of Lowville, NY. A side road off Rt 177 is named Beetle Rd! On our trip home we joined up with the Der Kaefer Fahrer group on their "Return to the Fatherland" tour. |
