| Wanted to make my 36 Dell's look like they came out of the 1960's instead of the '80's. I bought a used set of generic top and bottom air filter plates cheaply at a swap meet last year. The top plates are aluminum, not chromed, and don't have the "DellOrto" name stamped in. I'm keeping the original plates. Wet-sanded the used top plates with 220 wet, and decided to paint them Rust-O-Leum hammer-finish light blue. Wrapped a strip of left-over silver aluminum screen door mesh around the original pleated air filter element. Here's the first one. |
