Totally eliminates the troublesome roll pin.
Two of the “furniture dowel nuts” from the hardware store go inside the tube. Position the drilled hole so the nuts have clearance. I used a concave washer from a bike frame to even out the pressure on the aluminum. Has been running several years no trouble.
