| One of possibly two privately-owned Project 1021 VW 'SUV's'. It is a vehicle designed by Tim Fry and Reg Myatt for VW South Africa in the late 70's using air cooled Beetle mechanics, in an attempt to replace the aging Beetle in South Africa. Project believed to be scrapped by the powers that be in Wolfsburg. This picture, courtesy of Simon Glen, was taken most probably in Knysna, South Africa around 2016 and shows VW historian John Lemon writing a letter to the owner offering to buy it. He never got a reply. |
