My new heater core wouldn't produce heat. I cut it open to find out why. I reckon the gap under the scalloped edge divider is allowing the coolant to just go in and out of the pipes without being forced through the core channels. I fitted a better core from Foursome vehicle heaters in the UK and it works great.
