Here is the reason why aftermarket springs are so hard to install. They are not turned enough and put also, after being installed, lots of additional pressure on the bushing and the clutch cable . The OE VW spring winding is also not touching and when installed the original VW spring will put some pressure onto the shaft to keep it from sliding sideways.
