This heaterbox has a heat sink but only 2 fins per side of the exhaust pipe compared to 4 on each side of the OEM VW heater box. This box has a round exhaust pipe all the way through where the OEM VW heater box is shaped like an "8" in the middle portion. With a 1776 with stock ported heads and dual carbs with a 1 3/8" 4 into one header with a hideaway these boxes put out 126F to the footwell with the engine oil temp at 180F and rpms at 3k.
