| Many years ago, I was a Jet Engine Technician on the US Air Force Thunderbirds. Being an avid aviation buff, it was an awesome opportunity to meet some pretty famous people. One of those people was Bob Hoover. Although we never got around to talking about VWs, we spoke a lot about air racing. Bob loved to race anything, especially Airplanes. His demonstrations were a site to be seen in his Aerocommander Shrike. Anyway he made some improvements to Volkswagens oil system due to some failures they encountered. Here are some picture of my adventure doing these mods. |
