| In ~ 1990 while visiting my mom in the Sarasota area, her German friend Lore let me drive her spare car while on my vacation- their purchased-new-in-Germany L87 Pearl White 1961 Beetle. I enjoyed washing it and looking after minor items such as a valve adjustment. Here I am driving south on I-275 on the Sunshine Skyway bridge south of St. Petersburg. The original routing of the highway is on the right, which remained intact as a fishing pier after the tragic collision of a freighter against a bridge pier in 1980. |
