Current project: Bought this 67 Euro from a local here in Visalia. It has good character so I have decided to preserve as much as possible, spend the least amount of $$, bring him back to life, while also making a rad little daily driver (if possible).
So far, Bernard has been stripped down, pans mended, carpets cleaned/rehabbed, interior dyed, new brakes throughout including new master cylinder, new fuel lines, freshly sealed OG fuel tank, new poly urethane trans & motor mounts, new adjustable spring plates with pan dragger V2 drop plates, new shocks, and rehabbed 8inch narrowed beam with CB performance drop spindles. New ball joints, tie-rod ends, headlights, taillights, and turn signal switch. Engine was also gone through and measured between 125-110 compression on all four cylinders. The 1600 DP has a new 34 PICT along with a new vacuum advance distributor. New plugs, wires, seals, oil, and filter (yup, has a filter adapter).
Bernard should be street ready early February or early spring (weather dependent here in Visalia as I am cold blooded and need sunshine to operate). |
