| These are photos of my right rear fender on my Baja Bug 12 years after it was repaired in 2008. Someone backed into my car in a gas station. A piece was broken off about the size of my hand. I used a Bondo brand fiberglass repair kit from the local hardware store. I used a piece of plastic cut from the side of a plastic detergent jug to make a smooth surface to hold the broken part in place. A little resin applied to the edges, 4 layers of glass and 1/2 hour later it looked pretty good. A thin layer of glass reinforced Bondo over it, 1/2 hour to set, then 10 minutes of hand sanding and it was ready for paint. |
