My own $100 split...a 1950. The guy bought it in 1965 from the VW dealer in Pasadena Cal, broght it home and cut it up. Right when the "Dune Buggy" craze was starting.It sat in his garage untouched for 10 years. He lived so close that when I saw the ad in our local paper, I rode mt bicycle to his house. I used the dash on anoteher car, traded the rolling floorpan for a Telefunken radio, and got a 70 MPH speeding ticket in my Zwitter with the dealer installed factory rebuilt 36 the 50 had had installed before it's sale.
I sure wish I'd Never done anything to it but to have kept it as it was. |
