| During the Classic VW Bugs' Foliage Tour in Oct. 2018 that took place in the lower Hudson Valley in New York, a participant drove a totally original, extremely well kept 1974 Beetle. 31,000 miles. Overall details including the emissions label on the engine as well as the intake manifold dual-pipe preheat style are an excellent reference for restoration originality (except for the fuel filter). Also the thermostat-controlled flap under the license plate light housing. Owner told me that the car was purchased and driven in Calif. by an older woman. She drove the car when she relocated to Colorado, soon fell ill and could no longer drive the car. He bought the car from the woman's son in the estate sale. |
