| From 1/2008: My friend Bill from central Connecticut prepared a set of different wheels for his restored Ruby Red '65 Beetle. He removed the stock 4" wide smoothies (centers painted Anthracite), installed 4.5" 356 wheels with 165/80 tires in front, and 5.5" 356 wheels with Dunlop 205/70 tires in back. Engine was based on a 40 hp 1200 cc but with 83 mm big-bore cylinders and 69 mm stroker crank for 1500 cc. Single centrally-mounted Zenith NDIX carburetor. |
