Took my Beetle for a local drive in Rockland County in late August. The village of Piermont is on the western side of the Hudson River, just south of the Tappan Zee (now the Governor Mario M. Cuomo) Bridge and the town of Nyack. The train station was a stop on the Erie Railroad, and built in 1873. The tracks were removed in the late 20th century, the abandoned station restored, and the path is now a bike path. The "river" shot is on the mile-long former railroad pier that goes about 1/3 into the River. |
