This is probably overkill for most people, but if you deal with double relays a lot, here's a circuit for quickly testing them. You need some push buttons and some small 12 volt lamps. Wire as shown.

Pressing any section 'A' button should illuminate all section 'A' lamps. Pressing any section 'B' button should illuminate all section 'B' lamps.

You can also use a single test light and some jumpers to quick-test the relay. Connect the test lamp at one of the indicated lamp positions. Use a jumper wire in place of one of the push buttons. The relay should respond as described above.

This drawing updated to include both 11 and 13 pin versions of the relay.

Note: this method does not test the diodes in series with each relay coil. You need an ohmmeter for that.
