Modified VW 1800 Type 4 cylinder head & valves Posted: Sat Dec 19, 2020 11:13 am     Views: 48      Rating: Not rated

Shows the 1974~75 VW 1800 Type 2 cylinder heads with 41 mm inlet & 34 mm exhaust valves, as modified for use with the W-series VW 412LE engine crankcase and NPR 96 mm bore cylinder barrels & flat-crown pistons.

The engine, together with a matching 1974 VW 1800 Type 2 transaxle, will be transplanted into my 1973 VW "1600" Type 2 Westfalia Continental motor-caravan.

I undertook the work in the science laboratory, motor-vehicle studies workshop & mechanical-engineering workshop at South East Essex College of Arts & Technology, when I was a part-time lecturer there.

This included using a valve grinder, valve-seat cutter, lathe and a rotary file on a flexible drive.
