Popular TV show from 1972 thru 1977, shot on location in that city. SF police Detective Lieutenant Mike Stone and Inspector Steve Keller (Karl Malden, Michael Douglas) investigate crime in the city. Many street photos where there's almost always a VW in the background. Here are a batch of Type 3:
1. Grey Notchback. "Beyond Vengeance" season 1 episode 22, 1973.
2. Orange late Squareback driving past. "A trout in the milk" S1E13, 1973.
3. Green late Squareback parked across the street. "School of Fear" S4E5, 1975.
4. Green Type 3 in parking lot; can't tell the body style due to the back half not being in the shot. Appears in several episodes because it's a "stock shot" of the police department lot. "Birds of Prey" S3E11, 1975.
5. Blue late Squareback driving down 1-way street. Lt. Stone is working as a police officer and crossing the street. There's a yellow early dual-cab pickup directly to the right. "Endgame" S3E17 1975.
6. Red early Squareback, with Lt. Stone running past it. The camera is staying with Stone (panning) so that the VW is blurry. "Most feared in the jungle". S2E14 1973.
7. Yellow Squareback on the street. "A room with a view" S1E18, 1973.
8. Dark blue '67 Fastback parked. "School of Fear", S4E5, 1975.
9. Light blue '68/'69 Fastback with Sprint Stars and whitewall tires. Guest star Martin Sheen is about to drive off in the yellow Jensen Healey roadster. "Betrayed", S2E2, 1972.
