| The show hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman drive a heavy dump truck through a "traffic jam" of cars to try to prove or disprove the movie effects of displacing the cars. Episode "Hollywood Car Crash Cliches", season 12 episode 3, 2014. In the first attempt, the team welds an additional bumper/crash guard to the front of the truck. The Beetle is positioned in between other cars and is bumped hard. In the second attempt, a modified, tapered style "cow catcher" is installed which proves much more effective. The Beetle is now at the front of the row. |
