He was strapped in, we are doing around 60 mph here. Old Red, With Bruce behind the wheel, back in 1967, is the 1st fiber glass buggy to win what would later be known as The Baja 1000. It is well maintained but, has never been restored. What you see here, is basically as it was ( minus spare gas tanks ) when Bruce drove it in 1967. When Old Red is not in a museum (on loan ) or at an event, Bruce drives it on a regular basis. He says, he never intended for any of the Meyers Manx dune buggies he built or sold to set in a heated garage. They should be enjoyed and driven. |
