Slider security

Simple 10-32 Socket screw directly adjacent and to the rear of the latch. Prevents pushing it down, and sliding it back. A simple allen wrench removes the screw and returns the window to normal functioning.

Jump seat
1621
Jump seat with inboard and outboard anchor points for a childs seat LATCH system. The anchors are seat belt anchors removed from an 80's era VW Rabbit at a parts yard.
This area allows for additional storage space between the seats, perfect for this Case Logic drink/loose crap carrier.

Interior mods/add-ons

Sound Deadener on floor

Used Raamat and Ensolite acoustical foam in layers on the floor under the new flooring. Noticeable difference in noise level.

Two new rear courtesy lights

Wired in two rear courtesy lights on a door switch. Easy to put in the lights, a bear to run the wire down the B-pillar. Once that's down, it's fairly easy. Also ran a switch from the dash (just above the e-brake and seat belt warning lights) to ground in order to be able to switch on the rear lights from the driver's seat. Helpful with kids. Bulbs are ultra bright white LEDs so as to minimize battery draw. Now the rear lights come on when the slider is opened.

Raised Decklid with original bed cushion

Deck lid raised almost 2". I have since fixed the lower bed hieght differential by using a 2" memory foam mattress topper (5lb. version) in place of the original cushion.

1.8T Oil Pan Skid Plate

Skid plate for the aluminum oil pan on my vanagon with a 1.8T conversion. You can get a good look at the engine cradle too.
