Wiring diagram - 2 DPDT relays to run snowflakes with 3-wire TS switch
glutamodo
Like the title says, here's how you can use two DPDT relays (get them through radio shack or online) to make a 3-wire turn signal switch to mimic the function of the 6-wire 1960-61 switch on Type 1s.

Type 1 Brake Shoe Reference Diagram
glutamodo
Okay, I'm resubmitting this to the Gallery, as I found I had made a typographical error in one of the labels the first time I put it up. :oops:

This is out of an old out of print parts manual, and I went and consolidated all the type 1 brake shoe information into one chart.

Worldwide Type 1 Engine Data Chart
glutamodo
Here's a chart of Engine number data - worldwide. This is based on a chart from Jonathan Wood's 'VW Beetle, A Collector's Guide', but I've considerably rearranged and added a lot of different data to it, like the SAE HP numbers. I previously had a much more primitive version of this chart up in the Gallery. This one has more data and is better organized.

Wiper wiring 1967 2-speed vs 1966/earlier single speed and converting
glutamodo
Diagram of both the 1967 wiper motor wiring, and the 1966/earlier style. Also diagrams on how to use the later switch to run the earlier motor - or to add two resistors in there to effectively give two speeds.

I believe the resistances I have in my 62 are
Resistor #1 - 1.7 ohms;
Resistor #2 - 1.3 ohms; (but I use an adjustable hi-watt resistor so I can alter that at need)

NOTE - this is the revised diagram, I previously had this up with a couple of the conversion terminal numbers reversed.
