1966 the Shrike Gt
BushwhackDave
The Shrike GT designed by my father Don Haskin in 1966. Forever searching for a surviving example. The Shrike was one of the good looking kit cars with the rear of a Ferrari 250 LM and the front looking like a modern day Porsche 911. The windshield was in fact from a 66' 911. Designed to fit on a Squareback/Fastback VW that came stock with the flat dual carb 1600. Copycats include North American Fiberglass' angular looking kitcar in the 70's and Dave Norton using the Shrike name for his tube frame 3-wheeler created in 1984. I'm asking all car people to keep an eye out for a surviving original 1966 Shrike GT - Thanks! Dave Haskin (Bushwhack Dave)

1966 the original Shrike GT kit car
BushwhackDave
I'm searching for any surviving example of my father's design the Shrike GT. Only 4 were made when the company Phoenix Automotive failed and partners went separate ways. There are rumours they were destroyed out of anger, jealousy and ignorance (Can anyone imagine destroying a unique car design with only 4 made nowadays?)but I still hold out hope to find one - my father Don Haskin's legacy. Was the Shrike GT destroyed because it was too good looking? Most kit cars were an ugly copy of a Ford GT or Ferrari Dino with BAD proportions and an ugly windshield. Was it failed business partners that were mad or other kit car makers trying to bury it? While we ponder the question I'm still asking all car lovers to keep an eye out for a survivor and PLEASE contact me -Thanks! Dave Haskin (Bushwhack Dave)

The original 1967 Thunderbug
BushwhackDave
Often copied -the original 1967 Thunderbug show car was at the forefront of the mid sixties VW craze. How many full front and Baja Bug fiberglass hoods have you seen the front scoops on? They were originally created to hold a race style flip-up gas cap with connecting hose underneath eliminating the need to open the trunk to put in gas on early Bugs.
