PHOTO #2- This side-view of my car shows the fender and door illustrations in place as a guide for the vinyl installers. The purpose of the 2 pen & ink illustrations just beneath the car is so the installers can see what tree images go onto the front hood and the entire roof of the car down to the bottom of the engine lid. NOTE: The 4 fenders all have the same illustration on them. I provided 2 separate images of the same illustration to them the only difference being that I "flopped" the driver's front fender image for the passenger's rear fender and then the same 2 illustrations were then used for the passenger's front and the driver's rear fenders.

PHOTO #1- 1970 Bug with a 100% Body Wrap having a 7-year, UV protected, white glossy vinyl printed with black & brown ink. Image consists of 4 original black & white pen & ink line drawings. (JPG files were prepared in Photoshop CS as high-rez images (480 to 180dpi) and then merged onto three old photos of my bug- see PHOTOS #2, #3 and #4.) This 3/4 view photo with the dark limo-tint on the 3 back windows is the finished/wrapped product. The front 5 windows have a "Ceramic-blue tint" on them. Any good vinyl-imaging outfit can prep and print the illustration work, BUT...only a top-notch application crew can install it. The compound-curves, especially on the fenders, make the Type I, 1970 bug one of the most difficult cars to wrap. Incidentally, the installers wrapped the vinyl over all of the fender beading and rain gutters using a special glue to ensure excellent adhesion.

PHOTO #4- This image shows the roof illustration superimposed onto the roof, rear engine compartment lid and lid skirt beneath using Photoshop CS. This was created to show the vinyl shop how the final illustration should look on the car. This vinyl image on the roof is all one piece and wraps over the rain rails and down below the glass all around the car.

PHOTO #5- This view of "MaBug" shows the final body wrap installed, but without the tinted windows having been covered yet. Something very unusual about this vinyl body wrap is the fact that its high-gloss surface reflects the sky and surrounding environment which actually constantly changes the tint, tone and shade of the car's illustrations. No two photos of the car look the same. At night the car takes on a midnight-brown to black appearance, but when hit by another car's lights or passing under streetlights, the illustrations gradually appear and recede.
