Sobering - Vanagon Westy qualifies for "Cash for Clunkers"

No way I would do it, but I could get $4500 for my Westy if I traded it on a VW TDI Jetta. Tempting, but no. A Jetta is no Westfalia.

Thing Hard Top Cheapie hoist

Made my Thing Hard Top hoist out of 4 eye bolts, 4 cheap compression straps. Yakima Rack ends are the mount points. So far, so good. It's been steady as a rock for the last 4 days.

Sometimes you never know what's going to show up... this was traded on a pristine '64 Porsche 356. It's not 100%, but it's pretty good. Hard top and soft top.
At this point, I don't know if it's for sale or not.

Hauling classic Iron

700 mile sortie to the coast and back, picked up a vintage Vermont Casting wood stove that I won on eBay on the drive home. Pulled a 5 mile grade, 1000 foot elevation rise at 50 mph with no drama, then continued on a 70 mph.
