I took these from a junkyard in the early '80s, not sure what year bus. There were 3 on the back of the rear seat just like most jail bar uprights, but I could only remove 2. They look like they were shortened just above a point of narrowing, compared to a normal jail bar that has no narrowing. The VW & Frivo logos and the part number look to have been ground almost smooth on the backs of both but are legible with a magnifying glass. The finish looks like factory to my inexpert eyes. I can only guess at explanations.
