Route 66 - Chain of Rocks Bridge

For all those interested in Route 66, we came across this on our recent travels of the old road. Completed in 1929, this unique bridge crosses the Mississippi River (Illinois to Missouri) and contains a 22 degree bend in the middle of it. The old Chain of Rocks Bridge was closed in 1967 and sat unused for over 10 years. Today, it is open for walking/biking traffic and is a must-see/must-do if you are traveling in the area.
