After 5000 mi of driving, and a weird noise, discovered that the oil likely overheated causing damage to the mainshaft bearing and the 4th gear.

Blue cloth magnet was first oil change (approx 1k mi), brown magnet was overheated oil at just shy of 3k mi (since rebuild)
