This is the replacement glass for my 67 Beetle convertible. Notice it is most likely post 67, because of the DOT number (DOT didn't come into existence until most of the way through 67)

Engine stencils - repaint
harrymarlin
Before doing a repaint of my original 1967 Beetle 1500cc engine tin/shroud, I decided I wanted to make sure the original stencil prints weren't lost. To do that, I enlisted the aid of Etsy artist and stencil creator, GlassyWitch (Katherine Johnson). She did a great job creating a reusable stencil for the 12V and several single use stencils for the M610 (had to be single use because of the "0" and "O".

I decided to get what I believe is the original muffler on my 1967 Beetle (1500cc engine) restored. The tips were rusted out, but had a VW stamp on them. The muffler had a large dent with a hole, and a lot of surface rust. I contacted 4 different companies around the country which looked like they might do it. Only Specialty Cars in Pennsylvania expressed interest (and they were enthusiastic) about it. They did a boor scope review, first, then cut it open.

These photos show after the blasting cabinet, facing up.

Original 1967 1500cc Muffler Restoration
harrymarlin
I decided to get what I believe is the original muffler on my 1967 Beetle (1500cc engine) restored. The tips were rusted out, but had a VW stamp on them. The muffler had a large dent with a hole, and a lot of surface rust. I contacted 4 different companies around the country which looked like they might do it. Only Specialty Cars in Pennsylvania expressed interest (and they were enthusiastic) about it. They did a boor scope review, first, then cut it open.

Boor scope picture before disassembly. This shows the dented corner.

This is showing the outside, after blasting.

This is after blasting, and the only finding of rust - two holes on the pre-heat tube, not quite all the way through (started from the outside, not inside).
