Hand-built sports racer

The May/June 1952 issue of Road and Track reports results of the 12 Hours of Sebring, where brothers H. and I. Brundage of Miami, FL took 5th overall and 3rd in class in their home-built 1190cc "VW Special". They beat out competitiors such as a 2-Liter Ferrari and some 3.5 Liter Jaguar XKs, while still averaging 85mph and 27 mpg.
