Set it up in my parts washer, let the cleaning fluid run thru the riser while I continued to ream it out with the wire. Eventually got most of it out with reaming, flushing and blowing it out with the air hose. Next is welding the hold closed.

Working on my 1600 SP, heat riser clogged solid. Tried penetrating oil, feeding a flexible cable thru, no luck. Drilled a 1/4" hole on the back side here.

The Hell-of-a-Cruise in S.E. Michigan brings out some strange stuff. This is a little blurry, but it's a half cycle/Bug concoction with a Type-3 motor in the back. Seen in the company of a whole flock of Type-3's at the Zukey Lake Tavern. Looks like fun....I think.

Here's my 181 with new floorpans welded in, and two coats of POR-15 applied to the underside. Over this goes a good coat of Rustoleum gloss black, then a coat of Herculiner. Even in Michigan, this might not rust out for awhile.

Rebuilding the front axle for the Thing. The left one is the rusty original, note the mount for the extra frame bracket. the right one is from a Bug, and I welded on new bracket mounts. So far, so good.

T-4 1800 from my '75 Bus next to a T-5 1500 I had in the corner. The T-4 really isn't much bigger once you remove the cooling system.
