Today I am getting ready for my trip to the PNW. I decided to install a nicer 12V wiper assembly just incase I hit rain. I also installed new wiper blades. I recently found a correct 1 of the 2 missing original Westy woodslat rack clamps. I will be bringing home my 2 nephews so I installed 2 original sets of rear seatbelts. Next I installed an original decklid lock. Then I install an AM/FM Sapphire radio. It is from a Volvo but I have a correct 1967 Sapphire VI being rebuilt right now & will be installing it after I get back. I will be installing an original Sapphire Bus speaker mount tomorrow. Last I installed a VWOA trailer hitch so I can pull my 1971 German little enclosed utility trailer.

Doomsday!!!
53kombi
My restored 2nd owner '62 SO-34 flip-seat that burned back in 1998. Bus was a complete loss, but I was properly insured. Got paid!!!, but it still hurt to lose this one. Every option in perfect condition, all original wood panels, etc. And yes, both of the mint grey/yellow tents in the OG bags eventually burned on the rack. Nobody injured, only minor burns to the face and hair when I opened the decklid to attempt to put out the fire. This happened on the way to High Country Bus Festival in Boone, NC in July 0f 1998. Took care of business, and continued on to the campout in my friend's '67 SO-42. After stopping to buy new clothes!!!!

The wood-grain dash on the 1967 goes perfectly with the wood slats on the decklid rack by Pedro Sainz!

Ryan's latest project... My new 53 oval
VintageVulture
So I got this with MOST of the bits it came with including semaphores... A running 36 hp and an older roof rack. Came with 2 extra doors, all 4 are pre-55 and really really clean! I now need the following. Heart taillights, apporpriate decklid and light, oval glass and a title!

Oval TypeI lower left corner!

Here is a photo scanned from a post card that I picked
up. The text on the back side reads:

The Lakeview
Wiers Beach, New Hampshire
Overlooking Beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee
Denny and Betty Daily
Tel. (603) 366-4621
One Minute From All Activities

Weirdly enough, there is a rubber stamp on the card that indicates Denny Betty Daly (not "Daily")
"Reasonable Rates"e. I was planning on selling her and my new project 63' so I can
get a 21 or 23 window, but I have become fond of my 61'. I have not yet slammed
her because I think it would sell for more if it is original. But things have
changed... I am going to keep her and SLAMMM the hell out of her!

On the list still to do is.. Skirts, outside sun visor, vintage louvres, two
tone and a decklid rack. Oh ya, as far as the engine goes, it is a completely
stock 36 horse.

I live in the Denver area and the one show I took her to she was a hit:-)
I will keep you posted as to her progress!

This is my 61' Bug. I have had it since 2/00. when I bought it it was in sad
shape. As you can see, she has come a long way. The first thing I did to her
was to work the body and get it sprayed. While it was in the shop, I ordered
all new exterior parts like, bumpers, hubcaps, white walls, moldings, and so
on... oh ya, don't forget the roof rack:-) As you can see, I am going for the
vintage look here. I was planning on selling her and my new project 63' so I can
get a 21 or 23 window, but I have become fond of my 61'. I have not yet slammed
her because I think it would sell for more if it is original. But things have
