now release the guide block from the inner panel. a round locating tab can be disengaged from its hole by prying with a thin screwdriver, then the entire block and lever slides upward. then remove two bolts retaining the handle itself and guide the lever and handle out of the door.

To remove or install the inner handles with the pin, slide a screwdriver between the base of the handle and the escutcheon ring. This will push the ring again the panel enough to be able to see the pin holding the handle on. Use a drift (this one modified as you can see) and a small hammer to tap the pin in or out as you want.
