Lowered Rear
frissby
I lowered the back of my 1972 standard beetle the other day. Now I just have to figure out what is going to be the best method for the front. I am thinking 4" narrowed adjustable beam with shock towers, but I'm not sure what size tire to run in the front. It is currently a 195/50-15 on a 15x6.5" BRM wheel. I want to go narrower with a taller sidewall but I'm not sure what I can fit onto the 6.5" wheel.

Tilt-A-Seat Bug seat recliners
kasper
This is a set of Tilt-A-Seat recliners for bug seats. There are three positions. They attach to the stock pivot point and the cross bar goes through the hole at the end of the seat leg. What you can't see in the pics, is the flat spot ground into the cross bar that is parallel with the adjusting arm. This allows the bar to slid through the narrow slot. The cross bar is rotated to lock it into the round holes along the slot.

1967 (Euro) Volkwagen Beetle for US market.
jackswasted
Current project: Bought this 67 Euro from a local here in Visalia. It has good character so I have decided to preserve as much as possible, spend the least amount of $$, bring him back to life, while also making a rad little daily driver (if possible).

So far, Bernard has been stripped down, pans mended, carpets cleaned/rehabbed, interior dyed, new brakes throughout including new master cylinder, new fuel lines, freshly sealed OG fuel tank, new poly urethane trans & motor mounts, new adjustable spring plates with pan dragger V2 drop plates, new shocks, and rehabbed 8inch narrowed beam with CB performance drop spindles. New ball joints, tie-rod ends, headlights, taillights, and turn signal switch. Engine was also gone through and measured between 125-110 compression on all four cylinders. The 1600 DP has a new 34 PICT along with a new vacuum advance distributor. New plugs, wires, seals, oil, and filter (yup, has a filter adapter).

Bernard should be street ready early February or early spring (weather dependent here in Visalia as I am cold blooded and need sunshine to operate).

Bernard should be street ready early February or early spring (weather dependent here in Visalia as I am cold blooded and need sunshine to operate).

my wheels
doodads
Bought 4 of these 20 years ago, all 15x8 but since have had 2 narrowed to 5" and powder coated silver. Caps/centers were painted silver when I got them and I had them "driver quality" chromed. I've never seen another pair but was told by the shop where I bought them that they were popular in Cali on buses. Would love to know if anyone recognizes and can educate me on them. Your PM will be greatly valued!

Narrow beam pt 5
QRP
With a 4 inch narrow beam I had no trouble refitting the Riviera's up front, even with a 175/65r15
I should've done this a long time ago, took a good long test run this morning through La Tuna cyn. and few miles on the 210 freeway, it rides better than it did before and is fun to drive. Very happy with the results.
Might try some 2 spoke knock offs to finish up the wheels.

Most of narrowed beam equipped type owners said their ride was stiff after installation.
