Vanagon Modify 1.9 Plenum for 2.1
plummerdesign
Vanagon Modify 1.9 Plenum for 2.1 OR how I modified the mounting brackets to make a 1.9 plenum fit a 2.1 block. Yes I could search for a 2.1 plenum and do the work-arounds to adapt the 1.9 intake runners and vacuum/smog lines. But the project needed doing that weekend, so some 3/4 wide metal was shaped to do the trick. Took 2 hours start to finish. Done and looks OEM : )

in search of a shoulder bolt for the bottom break caliber
chelseagrube
I've never posted on the samba before so hopefully I'm adding in the correct area. I'm in need and in search of a shoulder bolt for the bottom break caliber. If this is worded wrong hopefully someone might understand the part, as I am a fan of my Vw bus but illiterate to anything mechanical.

additional info that may be needed: 1975 campmobile bus, part
is needed in the front passenger break area and I'm including as many pics of the correct one I need for measurement/size and there is small letter/number info as well.

any help is much appreciated!

Possible Sears Rascal?
Madtiki
Just bought this 61 Titled buggy today. Tub is weathered, but very solid. Great wheels. (Forgot the brand, but i know theyíre fairly desirable. Fiberglass Seats, windshield frame, wiring Harness, & steering column. Rear is an IRS uniy off a later model air cooled beetle.
Was told by the guy i bought it for om that it was a Sears Rascal. Dont remember if he said early or late style. I was wanting verification. Plus im curious about production numbers. My searches have come up empty. What about collectibility?

My wrecked bus, before I even got to sit in it!
jeaston13
have searched high and low for my first bus. I finally found one I fell in love with that was 1000 miles away. I paid for it, arranged for transportation, and unfortunately received a call today that the truck it was on rolled this morning! I am waiting for the transport company's insurance adjusters to call me and go from there. But I am hoping to find a VW restoration specialist near the tow yard it currently sits to have it repaired right, before having it loaded back up and shipped out to me. My fear is that this adjuster is going to be completely misguided on what this repair will fully entail.

1973 VW Westfalia
Jason Schoonover
Iím the second owner of the Mousemobile (see obvious picture), having purchased my 1973 Westy in 1983 after searching for one in mint condition for three years. (I had a í62 window van I had camperized during my university years in the late í60s and missed it terribly after I sold it.) But now Iím sliding down the easy side of the hill into my geezer years and I want something with a bathroom. My Westy years are fini, but for fond memories of trips from Vancouver to New York and Alaska to Arizona. Itís time to doff my Explorers Club ballcap and, nostalgically, pass it on to the next (Iím sure) happy owner.

At 89,873 miles in í91 I had an RnR 1800cc engine installed. It now has 131,300. New starter, brakes, clutch, tie-rods and wheel bearings as needed. Regular servicing. í04, it was time to clean up inevitable rust formation and repaint. The front seats were upholstered. It was a year or two later that our use dropped off and I parked it in the back. Noticing after a few years that our harsh Saskatchewan climate was affecting the finish, I garaged it.

Except for being used in 2013 as protagonist Rexís vehicle in THE SHAPE OF REX, itís essentially been garaged since. The windshield was cracked during filming and it was replaced. I also changed the engineís octopus harness, distributor etc at that time. Iíd start and warm it up every summer, and move it back and forth. The battery is a year old. While changing it I noticed that battery acid had eaten holes in the floor beneath so I had a new one welded in. It also comes with the childís hammock that installs over the front seats; as well as the regular hammock that can be engaged when the popup is up. Thus, sleeps 2 adults and 2 kids. Or one kid and Peter Dinklage. I always got the best sleeps of my life on that bed.

Deficiencies (unlike many sellers, I am not hiding the wartsóand all older vans have them): I replaced the gas heater twice. Theyíre incredibly finicky, and it no longer works, so I gave up. It wasnít really needed anyway. The
