At a VW junkyard near me, there are two type 4s, R G Barnum auto salvage in millington/ Vassar Michigan. They were pretty complete, I got a roof rack for my T3 Squareback off the one. I’m not a type 4 person but I thought I’d post it up to let people know looking for parts for them. They were very complete

I was just reading through, I have a junkyard near me with a 411 and a 412, I’m working on pulling the 411 engine and the other engine I got was for a 412 and had a manual transmission bolted to it, wasn’t a bus engine or trans. It had the hydraulic clutch and the T4 transmission hanger. Would it be worth saving it from the junkyard? If anyone wants it, let me know. I can post a picture up. It’s at the same junkyard I previously posted.

R G Barnum Auto salvage in millington Michigan, near frankenmuth. Their number is (989) 871-4000 they are open 9-5 week days, 9-1 weekends. There is the 412 and a 411. The 411 is rusted to nothing. Good lick with the clip. It should be pretty cheap at the junkyard. He charges fair prices

Gents,
If you are near to Texas, then Bug Acres could be worth calling into for Type 4 parts.

Well the price is certainly right (bet for $500 they're game) but that will be a Big Haul! Job for a BIG transporter. And then all the sorting out, cleaning up etc. But for sure tons of useable parts there.

I found this 411 two door for sale in Attica Michigan. It’s being sold by Jim’s recycling on Facebook market place. He wants 1k for the entire car or will part. Anyone interested in any parts? I may get the engine and transmission out of it.

Well ....if it's properly done.....not a rust bucket or bondo sled....has a proper factory interior, a good transmission and proper type 4 engine without a crappy two barrel carb (meaning either D,jet, L-jet or twin carbs).....why not $16k?
Why should beetles or type 3-s sell for prices like that?.....and they are far less rare and far simpler to restore. I actually hate calling type 4s "rare". That's too extreme of a word.
A T-34 is rare. Type 4 cars in general are just scarce. Early pre-71 two door coupe type 4s with manual trans.....that's kind of rare.
But......with "0" interior pictures, engine picture or detail pictures.....I kind of think $16k is reaching.
There are 411 and 412 out there easily worth $16k. Just look at Pepperbilly's cars and a few others in this forum.
