As part of something I've been digging into, I've acquired a number of t/s relays, images of them, and some wiring diagrams. Many are from classifieds or internet sites, and may disappear, so i thought I'd gather them. Why? Partially so you can see what some VW parts look like in the flesh, rather than just a line in a parts manual. You can then be at a swap, and spy JUST the relay you need! Second, so that you can see the terminal designations, and sometimes wiring diagrams - on unit or on paper. This may enable you to swap out a relay if an electrically-similar one you have isn't working. Many relays that have 31 (ground), 15 and 54 will swap out for relays with 31, 49 and 49a. Oddly, some don't. Honestly I assume those have an issue, but ya never know. And while most indicator terminals marked P, R, REP, C send power to a circuit, K or KBL usually grounds it, but not consistently, so testing is required. Many of these units look exactly the same in every way, but have different manufacturer's numbers, meaning SOMEthing is different!
I rely on "OG in the box" relays actually being originally IN the box pictured, but there's at least one I suspect was stashed in the wrong box... but it may be the later replacement unit, put in earlier one? That's the sort of thing I would appreciate feedback on. In any case, I hope this is of use to someone. Please add more, especially later years, as I don't have any. I know a lot are in the gallery, so just a part number and the pic link are all that is needed.
It will take a few days to complete this - I have several hundred images of around 50 different relays to type up. Perfectly happy if you beat me to the punch.
As for the project this sprang from: US buses with emergency flashers came with t/s relays having +, S and KBL; I'm specifically looking for the 12v versions, Mcodes 620 and 621. VW lists MANY part numbers for these buses over the years, but so far each one I have purchased or found an image of has 31, 49, and 49a. Some of these I purchased hoping they would at least function the same as +,s,KBL and ya never know until you test. Anyways, if you have one, or a pic of one, post it!
