Yeah but his conclusion was still wrong. We're still talking about when the spark has to fire.

Like I said, it must have been a partial conculsion or an editing error.

A nice break from lowering, stroking, wheelies and purple paint.

That's not much of a compliment. I'd rather have my fingernails pulled than think about someone hacking a suspension and trying to fit 18 inch bling blings. :)

So you don't wanna talk about this?

(Edited so it is clear)

<sarcasm on> Bling bling. That sh&t is tight! Dude! Now you just need to remove the torsion leaves and get that baby in the weeds. <sarcasm off>

I am glad to see that even many of the "Old Schoolers" can keep up with what's best NOW and move forward. My mechanic switched me back to a 009 when my vaccum advance was acting up. Now that I am more than convinced that vaccum advance is the best bet, after researching all the different ones out there, does anyone recommend a specific brand or model for my 1600? THANKS everyone for your time! - Bill (Spokane, WA)

1600 single port?

How about this? http://www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=VWC%2D043%2D905%2D205

Or this? http://www.aircooled.net/new-bin/viewproductdetail.php?keyword2=IGD0001&cartid=0208200576373123

If it were me I would also go for a petronics or compufire electonic ignition because I get tired of adjusting points. I know how to do it, I just don't want to anymore. I have paid my dues.

Thanks Randy!

I am a firm believer in not reinventing the wheel but many posts had me confused as they mentioned so many vacuum advances but not their "Choice" (if they had one). If these are the two that you recommend then I will focus on them. Am I to assume that the more expensive one is better? Sorry I am so new at this I don't even know if my 1600 (in my 68 Bus) is a single or double port  (pretty lame but I promise to look it up). BTW, I have been searching as many posts as possible for everyone's "Favorite" vac advanc because trust experiencec. Thanks again for your (and everyone's) time on this topic! - Bill
