I don't know if I should post this in the split bus forum or here. But here it is.

Came across this in the deluxe split classified, though it looks like a standard 11 window. Can't really tell. I looked up the feedback, and this guy has 3 responses, all favorable.

The ad is peculiar to me because he's looking for $100 donations for a trailer which he will then use to drag this bus to various shows around the country to sell raffle tickets. Your Benjamin also gets you a raffle ticket and he'll put your sticker on his new trailer to advertise your business.

I don't think this is illegal (many websites set up for this kind of crowd funding) but I've never heard of the website he's posted this on. indiegogo?
I'm a pretty skeptical person, so I'll pass on the trailer donation, but he doesn't even explain how this raffle is supposed to work and when exactly it's supposed to happen. He also says that it's "a skilled contest, not a raffle or lottery or randomly selected contest". What the hell does that mean? So you have to buy a raffle/contest ticket and then perform some kind of unspecified, skilled and judged task in order to win the bus? I call BS.

Furthermore, he says that this contest is 'for a good cause', but he never says what this good cause is. Lining his pocket with hundred dollar bills, maybe? He alludes to getting good karma from helping him with the contest, but what kind of reward will all the losers be getting?

Does anyone else get a bad vibe from this? Looks kinda like a scam to me. Buy this guy an enclosed trailer so that he can travel around to different car shows (sounds unlikely) and compete to win the bus. Do we get to inspect the bus beforehand? How do we know this isn't a polished turd, let alone a real bus with a real title?

But the reference to being for a good cause really bothers me since it really appears that there is no CHARITABLE cause that he's planning on donating to.

I saw that too and thought to myself that it was bullshit for the same reasons you'd mentioned. i'll keep my hundo and make my own karma, thank you
