Any one know about VW show near Six Flags Marine World in Vallejo in San Francisco Bay Area this year?
When?

Save your money and hit Sacramento instead.

I second that.

I Third that and the promoter is supposed to be a friend of mine and he has not returned any of the 4 phone calls i have made to him about the show date for vallejo. Time for a different promoter to take over that site.

i'll fourth what sean, kellen and bob already said. skip vallejo, the promoter doesn't care about the scene or returning phone calls.

Crofty,
Vallejo could be a good spot for a new SV2's show spot. Something to think about.

Kellen, I just heard today about the new 63 rag. Can't wait to see pics of it.

Ken "the promotoer" is currently shoping his "shows" to sell. What you get in the sell I have no idea, maybe a mailing list and ???
I do know that Vallejo will not let anyone else put on a VW related show there during the year sice he has a contract or such to do so. But if he doesn't set a date soon and the foks at the farigrounds open it back up I'm sure a certain showformace crew will jump on it.

I can think of a much better fairground to have a show at. How far back can you remember?

tubdub Tue Feb 22, 2005 11:44 am

i can remember back to pleasanton, is that the one you are thinking about?

Yep. Now that was a venue!

i think golden gate park right by height/ash would be killer. in all honesty I believe that to be a sacred place, I don't think our vw's would be as loved as they are were it not for the happenings in that area in the 60's

I'lll never go back to the valley Joe show unless there is a different promoter

Pleasanton was probably the best Norcal event for all types of VW's. KP is the best vintage show by far.

Here's a few more for the old timers. Fremont - Baylands racetrack.
Slightly more recent was the Sears Point shows. Decent but always worth going. I have some classic pictures in the photo albums from both events.

How about the San Jose VW and mini-truck shows that were put on in the early 90's.

I should pull out all my dash plaques I've kept over the years and make a list of all the different shows there were.

Yeah, I loved going to the Bug Bash, too bad they stopped that one. The shade and grass was great.

I too miss the Bug Bash events. To bad that the fairgrounds prohibits car shows anymore. The "buzz" was....the lowrider type shows brought out the criminal element. The neighboring communities got trashed, and the SJPD was overwhelmed with calls to that venue.
At least we still have Kelley Park. It would be nice to see a promoter step up to bring back a show to replace Pleasanton, San Jose, Sears Point, and Baylands.
Wouldn't that be nice.

Hear, hear.

Sunday afternoon, Hippy Hill & the drum circle, arriving with wife and kids and a good dog or two, safaries open... I've seen gold and it wasn't a neckless.

Or Ocean Beach. You always can find buses there. More baywindows. But they take it out and use it for what its worth.

I'll meet you guys there if you put something together.

There are still car shows at the fairgrounds in P-Town.
