| What was the conditon of the original plates in the 60's? Painted or metal finish? |

Mine's definitely painted. That part of the bus, thankfully, still OG paint.

Painted. The ones I've had or my friends, brothers etc.. have had are painted anyway.

| It was screwed onto the bus before the bus was painted. If you remove one, you break the paint loose from the screws. The backside of the plate is bare, and there is a bare area on the bulkhead where the plate was. |
