| Oops. Yeah, that thing is messed up. Its the correct mirror set-up, except its broken at the bottom. Someone screwed on the incorrect mirror and broke the hinge mechanism. That sucks. |

By the way ---
Heres my plan, let me know any objections, whatever...
For the next few months I am going to be cleaning the car. I plan to install another engine in and have it look decent and run good. I am going to be ordering a few parts, including seals.
I will have new breaks.
I brought the fuel tank to a radiator repair shop today who also fixes gas tanks, etc. He quoted $50, great, pick it up in a week. I will play with electrical and get the car clean. Patch up a few spots in the floors... then DRIVE IT. Woo Hoo. Might not be that easy -- but hey, thats the plan! |

Is there any easy way to get those door handles and window cranks off? I got three of the off and I am stuck on the passenger side door opener. I want to take the door panels off to work on the windows...
Any ideas, suggestions? I stuggled on the first three and took me longer then a hour itself.. thanks. |

On the door and handle cranks, all you have to do is push the white echelons (sp) into the door panel. You should see a very small pin on the crank where it goes into the door panel. Take a sharp tool (I used a small pick) and lightly tap out the pin with a hammer. Then the cranks and door handles will come right off. Just don't lose the pins.
Should only take 5 minutes to remove all of them, unless they are rusted. |

Finally got them all off. Yes, thats what I was doing, it was just hard to push in the handle and tap with a hammer and a punchout while I was trying not to crack that white plastic. They are all out now after a long days work, but for some reason the passenger side door handle, interior is stuck, probably rusted and wont come off, even thought he pin is out... tried many things, still not comming out... suggestions? Thanks in advance.
Kevin, you have been a real asset in helping me through this! Want to make a ride up here and help!?
K, now off to loading more pictures, check them out if you like. Comments/concerns welcome. |

You're too far away...
On that handle, I'd try to get some WD40 or maybe liquid wrench in there and let it soak. Water gets everywhere in a vert (hence why you have rust on the driver side of the car, instead the passanger side. You never know where water goes. Thats why buying a vert is SCARY. You probably have some moisture in the doors that locked up that handle. I'd knock it around with a rubber mallet too. Might loosen it up. Just don't wach too hard. Don't want to break that window. |

Kevin, I got all the windows nice and free now except that one, would like to get that last panel on, so I can work on it.
I have been dedicated to my wd-40 can oiling hinges and esp. on the top and doors.
The car has been so far pretty good for me, rust wise. So far, nothing I can't handle... knock on wood!
The steering seems pretty good actually on it, but I was told, I can tighten the steering, just don't overtighten it. It has some play, but not much for a car 50 years old.... without Power steering :) |

| Jordan, get soem PB BLaster. Its a penetrant. It works the balls on rust. That wd40 is a joke. In New england its the only stuff I use. |

| On the topic of fixing your int mirror, Try contacting a guy named Manny who sells vert parts out of LA, Ca. He has reproduced the lower mirror hinge system that yours seems to be lacking. But whatever you do, don't let him con you into giving him your mirror |

Looking at this pic It seems your support rails are almost non-existent, I would be a little leary about leaving this car on jackstands without the roof up as there is little to hold the body straight.
