Nice !! ...looks like a 1951 to me?? (EDIT: just saw Tonny says it's a '50!!! sorry!) Maybe the people at the Behr factory saw this picture too and used this idea for their Behr scoop that was sold by the end of 1953...? :D just kidding!! Hey, how old is that magazine anyway, and what's the story? I can only read: 'left: Dr. K....' so a doctor, but is it an article about the Doc or maybe a trip or world-tour?? ...never saw the bus before!! (swiss or italian or...?)

In my haste to post the picture, I never checked out the details. The owner stated that his bus was 'seven years old' and the article was written in 1958. I will let you know the chassis number when I pick it up.

how can you tell its a 50 and not a 51 from that picture?

On the roof gutter. A early 50 have no roof gutter over the wind screen..

I like the way the mirrors is placed, it is exact the same way I have them on mine. If they are placed on the end of the arm, I can't se anything :D

Here's a "Vintage Barndoor" Photograph. The dead giveaway to the vintage aspect is the large quantity of pubic hair involved...

While not Barndoor related, some of his other items might be of interest to you guys as well.

I like his "History/Background" from

I am mostly self educated(aren't we all) but did take a valuable course at New York Institute of Photography when I was in my 30s...30 years ago now........Prior to that I was a Volkswagen and Porsche Mechanic for a car dealership. But after 3 back surgeries.....the camera happened and I've been with it ever since. My life changed and as a result I try to give others the joy of that change.

If interested, I have uploaded some "new" photos on my site. All of them with old Danish Taxi's.

Really great photos.
The detail in the photos on that first taxi page is a sight to behold.

are these cargo door check strap brackets on the back to hold the bikes on?

I'd say yes, and the scuff marks around the beltline by the window are probably from the handlebars.

Taxi pics are INCREDIBLE, and again, look at the paint quality on the side panels....like a mirror !

I was asking if they were door check-strap brackets...not if they held the bikes on, as that is obvious.

Was it standard for the early models use one piece front kick panels and reverse mounted door handles? Great pics tonny thanks!
