Gary Emory has raced a flat four for years in one of his outlaw cars. I saw it race in Tustin, CA several years ago.

Gary Emory owns Parts Obselete in Oregon. (I think he is retiring soon, so Parts Obselete may be out of business). Two basic types of conversions..1 custom crankshaft with "even" journals or 2 cut down crank that leaves the journals at 60degrees and will make an engine that sounds like two Harley Davidsons driving in unison. I have heard the custom crank type run and all I could say is wow! 8k rpm with ease. I think he said cost is around $30K
