I think Pinky was just being funny.
As for your smoke issue, its a safe bet that you have some serious blowby. Is this during or after the engine running? |

well a blow by from wat i understand is when the compression in the cylinders are low and the exhaust goes past the valves and into the head and goes past the oil filter cap. its actually not a good sign as u mite have to grind the valves or maybe while u are at it replace the piston rings as since u are having loss of power u mite have to resort to changing the piston rings or maybe even the pistons. since it is white smoke my guess is that it is exhaust escaping past the exhaust valve. but if ur power in the engine isnt that high then i believe that it mite be the piston rings or maybe the pistons. |

I thought this meant a new pope was elected, but I'm not Catholic so I could be wrong. |

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong because I'm no expert by any stretch, but blowby is when compression created in the upper cylinders starts leaking past worn-out rings and bleeds into the crankcase. In essence, it pressurizes the crankcase and the excess pressure tries to leak out anywhere it can, like the oil-filler tube for example.
Tim
P.S. If your car is trying to elect the next Pope, then please tell us weather it is emitting black or white smoke. |

I have a brand new spanking mexican turnkey engine and there is a little smoke coming out there. Maybe it isn't broken in yet or do I have problems? |

I had that happen to me, it turns out that there was gas in my oil, and it was condensation/gas evaporating out as the engine heated up. Make sure that your crankcase is vented with some sort of suction. I.E. the hose loops arround and plugs into the bottom of your air cleaner. |

Blow by in this case is when the piston rings become worn. This leaves a gap between the ring on the piston and the cylender walls. When the piston compresses the fuel air mixture and when it is ignighted the pressure leaks past the worn parts and into the crank case. Here the escaping gasses pick up the hot oil vapor and carry it out of the engine vent system. This can be seen as excessive oil driping from the vent tubes of the breather system. It can also be seen when you take the oil cap off and vents out through the filler neck. Blow by can also come up through the push rod tubes into the rocker area but is usualy kept there due to no escape route. Some modified engines have vents instaled on the rocker covers thus allowing blow by or venting to go up and out into a seperate breather. This system is often used on the stroker or larger displacement engines. Sounds to me your engine could bebefit from a top end overhaul. |

The same shit happened to me. After I put all that anti-freeze in there, it still overheated and smoked. Man...did it smoke. All white too. What is causing that?
Pare...balita ba dyan.
White smoke...a pope.
Black smoke...oil burn.
Car oil? What the hell is car oil? Engine grease? Whoa.
And blow-by is when you pass extra gas.
Everything is cool here. But if you run that motor awhile and put your hand on that exhaust, it should be hot. |
